Volunteer Program
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting Cemetery projects and increasing community awareness by serving as ambassadors in Greater Lowell. Opportunities are identified by Lowell Cemetery leadership and may include tour guiding, historical research, marketing support, or assisting grounds staff with approved projects.
Volunteer Guidelines
Volunteers must:
- Work only on approved projects and schedules
- Not use power tools or operate Cemetery equipment
- Sign in and out at the Administration Office (75 Knapp Ave)
- Wear Volunteer identification while on duty
- Acknowledge their role as unpaid volunteers, not employees
Volunteer Recognition
Lowell Cemetery recognizes volunteers by:
- Tracking hours and issuing certificates of appreciation
- Offering occasional behind-the-scenes experiences with staff
- Hosting an annual spring appreciation luncheon
